Restricting Passes to Residents

If you wish to sell a pass to only residents based on your organization's residency strategy, Barkpass allows you to restrict sales to only residents.

Enable Residency Restriction

To restrict a pass to residents, visit your Pass Settings and scroll to the bottom of the Pass Details section.

Select Restrict to Residents under the Residency Restriction setting and click Save.

Restricted Residency Behavior

When customers are applying for a pass which has residency restricted, they will first be prompted to update their contact information.

If their updated contact information does not qualify them as a resident based on your residency strategy, Barkpass will prevent them from continuing with the application. They will be provided an option to delete the application.

Additionally, when non-resident customers are logged in, they will be shown an Ineligible message next to any passes you have restricted to residents.

Add-On Passes and Residency Restriction

If you've defined an eligible add-on pass which happens to employ residency restriction, Barkpass will prevent the add-on pass option from being displayed to any non-resident customers.

If a customer happens to have selected an add-on pass which is restricted to residents, and then proceeds to update their contact information which changes their residency status to non-resident, a notice will be displayed to them prompting them to remove the ineligible add-on pass.
